Terms of Use

These terms apply whenever you use Washington Residents Directory. By continuing to the site, you agree to them; if you disagree, do not use the site.

1. About This Reference

Washington Residents Directory is a privately operated guide to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections. It does not host official government records and is not affiliated with a state or local office, court, or custodian.

2. Lawful Use

You may use this site only in ways allowed by law. You must not use the site or information reached through it to:

  • Stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or injure anyone
  • Seek out a person protected by a court order
  • Engage in fraud or identity theft
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Harvest or republish substantial portions of the site's content
  • Disrupt the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reports

Washington Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq.). Neither this site's content nor information returned by a linked search service is supplied as a consumer report, and it must not be used to determine eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. External Services

Government websites and outside providers, including sponsored search services, operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control or accept responsibility for their content, availability, charges, or handling of data. Washington Courts has also published a court-payment and jury-scam alert; use a court's official page or clerk contact before paying or sharing information.

5. No Guarantee

The site is offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties. We do not promise that its information is accurate, complete, or up to date, or that a linked portal will remain available or produce a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages connected with this site or a linked resource, including outcomes from decisions based on records found there.

7. Responsibility for Claims

You agree to protect and reimburse the site's operators for claims or demands, including reasonable legal fees, that result from your misuse of the site or breach of these terms.

8. Site Materials

Copyright protects the site's original writing, design, logo, and layout. You may link to pages and quote short passages with attribution; copying full pages or reproducing the material systematically is not permitted.

9. Revisions

We may revise these terms by publishing an updated version on this page. If you continue using the site after an update, you accept the revised terms.

10. Restricting Access

We may suspend or limit access for anyone who breaches these terms or abuses the site, with or without advance notice.

11. Washington Law

Washington law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The Washington Public Records Act, chapter 42.56 RCW, governs access to qualifying records held by state and local agencies, subject to statutory exemptions; requests for those records belong with the responsible custodian, not this privately operated site.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
